Cheryl Bohlman
Longseth’s mother, who used to draw pinup
girls in the 1940’s, watched to see which of her children would inherit
her interest in drawing and painting. When she realized it was Cheryl, she
arranged for her to attend Augustana College, where she was an art major
for 2½ years. Then Cheryl moved to Oregon, received a degree in psychology
and abandoned her art.
Cheryl returned to Sioux Falls in 1989, became an
artist’s model at Augustana and began to attend an artists drawing group,
which rekindled her interest in her artwork. "Up until now, most of my
artwork has consisted of the human figure, but I have begun to explore new
subject matter and media. My goals are twofold: To arrest viewers with my
images and to produce affordable original art so that as many people as
possible can enjoy it."
